Work of Fiction

This blog contains some posts from a fictional character in a trilogy I am writing. She is not real and she is not based off a real person. Thank you.

Can't Make This Up!

So my oldest and I went out to do some simple shopping. A quick trip, or at least it should have been. Now keep in mind, the following tale is completely true.

As we pull onto Clay Rd. we notice traffic is backing up, approaching the Brighton Henrietta Town Line Rd. we see there is a huge accident blocking both routes to the place we want to go, spitting distance from the intersection. So, we turn around and go the long way (adding nearly 2 miles to get to a place right there) when I realize I really need gas.

Okay, fine...there's a gas station along the way so I get gas and finally get to the brewing store. Get what I need and cannot leave the same way I came in (which is 1.4 miles from the next place I need to go) because a large FedEx truck is in the way so again I had to take the long way around which was another 3 miles.

Survive all that which because of traffic from the accident added an additional 30 minutes to what should have taken 10 minutes of driving.

So now we go to Tops. My daughter is accosted by a very friendly Asian employee who wanted her to try some cheese spread which according to the child was not very good and finally we get our groceries, get in line and of course there's issues with the person before us, then the scale breaks.

Finally we go home. Headache from hell, but at least I got a Strawberry Kiwi Snapple and a Snickers bar.

Tablet Frustrations

So, before going to Florida to visit family I got a Surface Pro tablet. Was so very excited and actually began to love the little piece of electronics. Then the first Microsoft update was pushed through and my apps stopped working. {lots of grumbles} Get that fixed, and with each update the apps die. Come to find out I got a defective tablet. (Go figure!) So now I am waiting on the new one from Microsoft. Too bad I forgot to do screen captures before it died. LOL

Review of XOM-B by Jeremy Robinson

XOM-B by Jeremy Robinson was definitely a different take on the whole viral outbreak and zombie apocalypse theme in a very good and interesting way! From the moment I started the book I felt invested in the survival of Freeman, rooting him on and holding my breath when he was in trouble.  XOM-B brings us to what could very well be our future thanks to the advancements in technology, but will we learn from their mistakes?  Probably not.  An excellent, hard to put down read!

Evil Man - A Dark Angel Trilogy Short

So I was on my way back from Florida, in an airplane. {Note, flying totally freaks me out and even with the lovely medication I was not so thrilled about being in the tin can of death.} Everyone around me drifting off, when suddenly an idea strikes and a story is born.
Benjamin Anderson was your average Joe working a nine to five job and going to the local pub after work for a drink to wind down. But Mr. Anderson has a darker side as well.

One night while visiting a small pub he spots a young woman. Her broad smile and friendly nature grips him, and at that moment he realizes Aingeal must be his. Crawl into the mind of a psychopath as he lives the days leading up to their meeting and find out how the Evil Man was born.

Evil Man - A Dark Angel Trilogy Short will be available in Kindle format only, hopefully by the beginning of April.

New Amazon Page

So Amazon Affiliates offers a new function where I can create an e-store through it with links to their products. As an author I thought this was a great way to promote my writing, and as a reader if gave me a way to share the books I am reading and enjoying, so I created one.

If anyone is interested, here it is: http://astore.amazon.com/wordareweap-20

BTW, to my writer friends...if you have a quick read, be it in a compilation or stand-alone, on Amazon and it's not listed in my Quick Reads section already please give me the name of it and I will gladly add it to the list.

Reading and Reviews

So I wanted to post a little something about this, not just as an author but as a reader.  When you read a book, leave a review.  It does not need to be one of those long drawn out in-depth ones, a simple couple of lines about why (or why not) you liked it works.  Believe me, reviews are very important to us.  Thanks!
